The university administrative organization

University President

University President is appointed by a presidential decree upon recommendation of the  Minister of Higher Education. He is supposed to have worked as a professor for at least five years in one of the Egyptian universities. His term of office is four years, which could be renewed for one more term. He takes over the responsibilities of managing the university .academic, administrative and financial affairs in the framework of the policy   set by the Supreme Council of Universities and University Council virtue of the university regulating laws and bylaws.

 University vice-presidents

 University President has three vice-presidents who are appointed by presidential decrees . University Vice-President appointment should have worked as professor for at least five years in one of the Egyptian universities. His appointment lasts renewably for  four years. University vice-presidents are as follows:

 

  1- Vice-President for Education &Student Affairs:

    He heads Education & Student Affairs Council in the university and takes    

    over the responsibilities of education & student affairs sector.    

    2- Vice-President for Post-Graduate Studies & Research Affairs:

    He heads Post-Graduate Studies & Research Affairs Council in the       

    university and takes over the responsibilities of education post-graduate  

     studies & research Affairs sector.

     3- University Vice-President for Community Service & environment

     Development Affairs: He heads Community Service & Environment     

     Development Affairs Council and takes over the responsibilities of community   

      service and environment development affairs sector.

                         The Faculty Council

           The Faculty Council is headed by the Dean and the membership of vice- Dean's, heads of Departments, a professor representing every department the membership is to be rotated annually according to the seniority professors, assistant Professors, a lecturer of the faculties which departments are no more than ten, two assistant professors and lecturers if departments are more than ten. University council, by virtue of faculty Council request, has the right to add to its council five professors.

 

The Head of Department

The Head of Department is appointed among the three senior professors by a University President's decree upon the recommendation of the Dean for renewable three years period; in case there are less than three professors the most senior one will be the head of department.

 

The Department Council

The Department Council consists of all professors and assistant professors, in addition to a rotating membership of five lecturers at most. The number of lecturers in the council should not exceed its other staff members.
