The ministry of higher education ,in cooperation with the Finnish
government, announces a competition.
The supreme
ministry of education announces a competition in the field of
information technology, which the Finnish academy of technology
organizes for the talents in the field of science and technology.
The subscription is through registrating the data of those who want
to present in the competition on the electronic paper of the Finnish
academy which is
WWW.millenniumyouthcamp.fi.1500 students from different
countries will be testified in the field of information technology.
Only 30 students that will classified as a second stage according to
a project or a research paper, they present through the academy's
page on the internet in the field of technology and science. The
Finnish academy will bear the whole expenses of the travel,
residency and the value of the visa for the 30 students.
Important Announcement
Presenting
for the external missions for having the doctorate, the corporate
supervising missions and the short term assignments after doctorate
for the fourth year 2010/2011 from the sixth five year plan
2001/2012, has been opened.
The staff
members and their assistants who want to present, should present
directly to the electronic
website of the missions and
cultural affairs sector and this will be from 5/12/2011 to
11/1/2011.
The Finnish government offers scholarships for the academic year
2012/2013
Finnish
government announced a number of scholarships for conducting the
researches of pre- doctorate (Collecting the scientific material
which is required for doctorate), the public management of missions
holds the executing the nomination procedures, noting that:
-The
conditions, fields and all information related to this scholarship
are available on the electronic website of the missions and cultural

-Those who

Appreciation certificates and artistic episodes in the honoring
ceremony of the distinguished students in the students' activities
Under the
patronage of Professor Nabil Nour Eldeen, vice president of the
University for the Students' affairs and acting the head of the
university, youth care management at the central building held a
ceremony for honoring the distinguished students in the student
activities in the academic year 2011/2012.
This was in
the glass hall on Sunday 25/12/2011 at 12 PM.
Those who
got advanced positions and who sparkled in the competitions which
youth care management organized such as Holly Quran, ideal student,
chess, star maker, electronic information tournament and
presentations competitions in addition to the male participants in
the training coursers of computer science and the female
participants in the sewing tournament, were honored.
Also the
winners of the comprehensive students' social convoys
(human-veterinary-public service) and also the staff members, who
participated in the supervision and judgment, were honored.
Professor
Nabil Nour Eldeen honored the winners which are 165 male and female
students and a number
of staff members, by giving them
appreciation certificates.
Sohag
University participates for the first time in the Arab
tournament for fives football
The seventh
Arab tournament for fives football which South Valley University in
Quena organized from 2/12/2011 to 8/12/2011, included male and
female students.
For the
first time Sohag University participated with its team and worthy
mentioning is that the team showed an honorable sportive level
between the participated universities, as 17 Egyptian and Arab
universities participated in the tournament.
Settled kicks settled the winning for faculty of science in the
tournament of the university
Yesterday
20/12/2011 faculty of science team and faculty of commerce competed
with each other in the final tournament of the University for
Football.
The two
teams reached the final stage after the competition of 12 teams on
the level of the university.
Faculty of
science team won the cup of the championship after beating faculty
of commerce team with the penalty kicks.
The
international referee osama Elaaref in Sohag arbitrated the match
with the aid of the referee Ashraf Mahran and captain Hesham Tolpa.
Dean of
faculty of science, dean of faculty commerce and some deputies of
the faculties attended the match.
Professor
Nabil Nour Eldeen, vice president of the University for Students
Affairs and acting the head of the university handed over the cup to
the winning team.
Sohag University got the second position in the
human convoy' project
Assuit
University organized students social groups (human-veterinary-public
service) in Elwady Elgedeed governorate in the cooperation with
ministry of supreme education .Sohag University participated with 7
students in the second meeting of these groups ,as Sohag University
got the cup of the second position of the public service, veterinary
and human groups.
The great competition of the Holly Quran at Sohag University
Under the
patronage of Professor Nabil Nour El-Deen , acting the head of the
university and vice president of the university for the students
affairs, Sohag University organized a competition between the
faculties for preserving the holly Quran.25 students participated in
the competition.
Also 3
students from the open education and 1 from the public diploma at
faculty of education.
The
competition was held on three levels:
-The whole
parts of the Quran in the first level.1
-Half of the
Holly Quran n the second level.2
3-Ten parts
of the Holly Quran in the third level.
It was
Fatwooh Ahmed Khaleel, professor in Arabic department, Professor
Emad Hamdy Ibrahim, assistant lecturer in the Islamic studies
department and Mr. Rashad Elshamasy, a manger of student's families
and social activity management at youth care management who judged
the competition.
Seham Kamal
Kamel, fourth year faculty of arts, won the first position, Elham
Osman Elzohry, fourth year faculty of nursing, won the second
position and Mahmoud Ali Ahmed, fourth year faculty of science won
the third position.
Training courses for the female students at the
hostel of the university
Under
the patronage of Professor Nabil Nour El-Deen, acting the head of
the university and vice president of the University for the Students
Affairs, technical activity management organized a training course,
in the cooperation with the female students employment center at the
hostel, for training the students on sewing, embroidery and needle
works and this was for 12 days and for 30 students.
The students
did some rural products as these products participated in the
competition which Banha University organized in sewing.
Central youth care management organizes a camp
for choosing the scout clan
Under the
supervision of Doctor Hany Gafr El-Sadk, a manager of the central
youth care management and Mr. Nashaat Abbas, a manager of the public
service and the scout management, scout and public service
management at the public management of the central youth care
management organized a camp for choosing the central scout clan.
100 students
on the university level participated in the camp and also a group of
the naval association leaders and some responsibles of the activity
at the central authority attended the camp.
Moreover the
best students were chosen to represent the university in the scout
activity.
The camp
program aimed at developing some skills of the students such as the
skills of ties and knots, some various technical works, how to
perform the first aids, help the students to know how to behave, how
to make decisions and teach them the basics of evaluation in
addition to many skills have been acquired during the camp such as
developing the physical and mental abilities of the students and
make them understand what is the scout movement.
Central Youth care management organized a presentation competition
Under the
patronage of Professor Nabil Noue El-Deen, acting the head of the
university and doctor Hany Gafr El-Sadk, manager of the central
youth care department, central youth care management organized a
presentation competition between male and female students, as25
students participated in the competition.
The criteria
of the judgment in the competition were the programs, the used
effects in the presentation" technological technique", the way of
presenting, the content of the presentation from its scientific
material, is abiding to the assigned time for every presentation and
the biding of the faculty to be exist during the presentation of
other faculties.
Professor
Mohamed Heshmt Abd- Elaalh, a lecturer at faculty of science
mathematics department and engineer Salah Hamed Ameen, an engineer
in the electronic education project judged the competition.
Training courses on the applications of the
computer
Under the
supervision of Professor Nabil Nour El-Deen, acting the head of the
university and doctor Hany Gafr El-Sadk, manager of the youth care
management, youth care management at the central authority organized
a training courses on the use of some computer programs such as
Photoshop, movie maker, flash and web design and this was from
19/11/2011 to 22/12/2011.
Engineer
Salah Hamed Ameen, engineer Mahmoud Hussein and engineer Mahroos
Hars Abd El-Rahman, who are engineers in the information
network management, attended the lecture.
60 students
from various faculties participated in the course.
Worthy
mentioning is that having the ICDL certificate was the condition for
attending the course.
After
finishing the course and traversing the assigned exam, the student
gets a certificate of traversing the course in the above mentioned
programs.
Great
scientific project
in the field of Nano technology between Sohag University and
Barcelona University
Professor
Laila Hamdan Abd El-Rahman, professor at chemistry department at
faculty of science Sohag University announced that Sohag University
had the acceptance on the academic exchange project between faculty
of science in Sohag University and Barcelona University in Spain.
The aim of this project is conducting many researches in Nano field.
Working in
the project will start from January 2012, the project will include a
team work consisted of researchers from Sohag university and Assuit
University with the participation with a group of researchers from
Barcelona University and this in the frame of a corporate
cooperation between these universities.
The European Union presents educational grants for the students of
special needs
Professor
Nabil Nour El-Deen acting the head of the university announced that
Sohag University got the grants of Erasmus Mundus project which is
funded from the European Union with the participation with the
ministry of high education, in which sohag university participates
as one of five universities, which are
Bani-suef,Ein-Shams,Alexandria universities and the Arabic academy
of naval transport, technology and science and ten universities from
its European counterparts.
These grants
targeted in addition to the demonstrators, the assistants'
instructors, and professors, the students of special needs for
completing their study in one of the European universities and this
will be from 4 to 10 months.
These grants
are distinguished by considering Sohag University as a university
which has a part of the fund which means that it is not a
competitive with other universities.
The campaign of raise your voice for educating
electors with the cooperation with the justice authority for
training and development and with the university in sohag
Sohag
University participated in raise your voice campaign for educating
electors in the frame of a series of seminars which were held from
7-12 December with cooperation with justice authority for training
and human development.
The aims of
the campaign are knowing how to build modern Egypt, knowing the aim
of the next elections as it is the chance for the Egyptians and for
change and for Egypt to be better, knowing the appointments of the
elections and also the difference between the list and the
individual in the elections which have been acknowledged
during the seminar and informing the students how to vote for the
members of the parliament and this seminar was the conclusion of the
series of the campaign.
This was
with the attendance with mr Esam El-Shreef the chair man of justice
authority at training and development authority in sohag ,Mr. Tarek
Sayed Farg the manger of the national council branch at human rights
authority in sohag and Mr. Rashad El-Shmas a coordinator in the

The exhibition of the book at Sohag University
Sohag
University organizes the exhibition of the book every year with the
cooperation with the higher council of culture.
The
exhibition presents books in all fields at 50% off for spreading
knowledge and awareness between the students and also for removing
the hindrances of purchasing and this will be from 17 to 27December.
The
exhibition is under the patronship of Professor Nabil Nour El-Deen
acting vice president of the university and acting vice president of
the University for the Students Affairs and professor Lotfy Hamed
Abo El-Dahb acting vice president of the University for
Postgraduates Affairs.
Information
technology and the project of system development held a seminar on
Sunday dated 11/12/2011 under the title" Watson deep question
answering system: how to build a computing system that rivals
human's ability to answer questions.
Under the
constructive and fruitful cooperation between all the knowledgeable
and electronic centers of the higher council of universities and
Cairo centre for advanced studies at A.B.M Company in A.B.M branch
in Egypt.
Doctor
Hesham Elsheshiny, who is the manger of Cairo center for advanced
studies at A.B.M Company.
The lecture
has been transferred directly through videoconferences unities,
which spoke about Watson's system of answers and questions ,through
which the computing system becomes be able to understand the
complicated questions and answers it accurately and this through a
competition in different fields .
The
competition faces several challenges as the different kinds of
questions, the ambiguity of the language of the question, answers
should be accurate and the speed of answering the question should be
from 3 to 5 seconds.
Anumber
of the staff members and the engineers of ICTP attended the seminar
at Sohag University.
